3 things to know about Juicing

For Trouvaille, our next juice cleanse is on the horizon with a quickly approaching Yacht Week trip to the Greek islands this July. To prep for this bikini-filled week of tropical retro inspired parties and long sailing days, we've outlined our top 3 things to know about juicing to get the results and energy you're looking for!
1. Goal yourself to drink at least two glasses a day. Most people find that eating large quantities of vegetables is, at best, a bit of a chore and, at worst, screamingly boring, but the full, health-giving, benefits can easily be accomplished by a quick glass of vegetable juice, aim to drink at least two. 2. Why add greens? Chlorophyll is the magic ingredient. And fiber from the pulp of the greens. It’s the pigment responsible for the green color in plants. It enables them to “trap” energy from sunlight. Chlorophyll assists in red blood cell regeneration, enhancing the oxygenation process. It cleanses the digestive system, assists in purifying the blood, eliminates bacteria, disinfecting and detoxifying as it goes about its work. Oh, and it balances the body’s acid-alkali levels.
2B. Add protein-- to make your juice more of a complete meal, try adding some nuts to boost your protein intake. It will help keep you more full, for way longer.
3. limit juicing fruit. Why? Sugar. Sugar is the devil that's why; especially when you're trying to reboot your energy levels. Fruits have way to much sugar in them to be juiced. Juicing fruit is a very quick way to pile on fat as your body stores excess sugar in your liver and fat cells-- making your quick sugar high turn into a quick crash, and putting a strain on your hormonal system.
